(held on the beautiful campus of Apple Afterschool, 221 Thunderbird Drive, Aptos 95003 (831) 685-0629, Aubrey Bublitz, director). Extended day camps are open to students in grades K-6, siblings and age-appropriate friends.
JANUARY 4-8, 11th 2016
Monday, January 4: NEW CITY/NEW YEAR/NEW TOYS
All students by 11, lunch & snacks, new toys to share (optional)
Welcome to Apple City as we set up a variety of free choice areas for our lucky students--from a barber/beauty shop, to a vet office, to a cafe, to a toy repair shop--where will you work? We'll also enjoy a New Year’s Party with dancing and games, fun skits, and a story about lost toys. We'll finish the day with some popcorn and the ultimate toy film, Toy Story 3!
Tuesday January 5: SLUMBER PARTY with ANIMALS
All students by 11, Lunch & snacks. one stuffed animal SMALL-sized please, favorite animal book and/or movie (optional), Pajamas and pillow (in a bag please) lunch & snacks
Please don't forget to bring your stuffed small sized animal for a visit! You and your pet can enjoy primping at the Apple Salon, an exam at the Apple Vet, or a snack at the Apple Cafe. Later learn to create a hat or vest for your stuff or join skits featuring our animal friends. Finally share your stuffy's talents in our famed Animal Show and then change into your pi's for a pillow obstacle course and fun movie for the two of you.
Wednessday Jan 6: QUEST DAY
All students by 11, lunch & snacks, Quest type books and/or games
Today, noble students will traverse far and wide in order to complete many quests. First, journey through a maze and then if you dare, try climbing through a yarn course without tripping the dangerous bells of alarm. You may also enter the "design a trusty steed contest" by creating your own unique creature that will assist you through your travels. Later enjoy building indoor forts, castle legos, and other fetes of strength and agility. The day will come to a close as we challenge ourselves to capture a dragon egg!
Thursday Jan 7: OLYMPIC DAY
All students by 11, lunch & snacks, favorite board games
Welcome to Apple's Olympic games! Begin by designing your own Olympic flag as you choose your own country to represent. Later we'll learn about Olympic greats and then head to Rio Park for our own Winter Games--try weight lifting, the long jump, discus throw and more. In the afternoon enjoy some great stories about Greek gods and goddesses and then enjoy sharing one another's board games.
Friday, Jan 8: ROCK STAR DAY
All students by 11, $7 for Village Host Pizza (please put in envelope and indicate if sending extra $$ for video games; trip approx. 11:30-2:00
In the morning design your own rock star poster or button and enter our air guitar contest. Later learn cool dance moves, enjoy freeze dance and lip-synch contests or join in our Apple band with a variety of musical instruments. We'll enjoy lunch and games at Village Host Pizza and then return to Apple for mad libs, parachute games, or snowballs.
Monday, Jan 11: SPORTS DAY
All students by 11, lunch & snacks, favorite sports equipment, books or films about your favorite sports and/or heroes.
It's all about sports today. Bring your own equipment and set up a sports clinic as you teach others through drills and games. Later, learn about a famous sport hero Jackie Robinson and enjoy a reader's theater play about his life. In the afternoon we'll visit Rio Park for playground equipment and games and then return for popcorn and a movie.

NOTE: Current Magic or Apple students (paying Jan 2016 regular afterschool tuition) may also attend the afternoon session of winter camp at no additional charge. Students must attend the same number of days and times as registered (11-5:30 full day K, 2-5:30 grades 1-6, 1/2 day and PM Kindergartners. Please note only pre-enrolled students are guaranteed admission as we hired staff based on your requests)
